When I used to own 5.0L Mustangs (had several), that always used to happen to me. One time, they even jacked my whole car when I just went in to get a pop in a store! They got my whole system that time too (even though the cops found the car later on). But now that I've gotten older, and grown smarter, I realized that it's much cheaper to go with the stealth look. Yes, when you peek into my car, you can't see anything aftermarket. Even made a dummy faceplate out of the stock stereo (with all the knobs glued on) that snaps over the mp3 deck I got (fits on after you remove mp3 deck's faceplate). All my seperates, amps, crossovers, are behind stock grills and/ or in the trunk. And since I go with that approach, I've never had a system even touched. Also, another good tip from the wise, is when pulling into a parking lot, or driving around in residential neighborhoods, TURN IT DOWN! Don't advertise your system. Having big Orion or Fosgate window banners on your front windshield ALSO count as advertising. I won't ever go driving around letting every thug know what system they want next. Try these precautions, and I bet you'll never lose another dime in stereo equipment.
