The reason the grass isn't growing is becasue the pine trees make the soil too acidic. The grass doesn't like it so it won't grow.

Get some lime, and spread it over the areas you are trying to grow grass. Apply the lime at double the ammount the bag says to. Then let it sit until at least 1/2 inch of rain falls, then put the seed down.

Actually, you're whole yard could benifit from the lime.

I prefer the pellitized becasue its not dusty and dissolves slower so there is little chance it will "burn" the grass.

Thanks for the advice Jay, but that's not really the problem. The loam I got this spring had a rather high content of sand, and the weather after I seeded was very cold (with some snow). The combination has delayed the seedlings. They are finally coming in, but will need an additional seeding and a coat of topsoil. The rest of the yard looks like a golf course, it's just way out back I'm working on now wink .

It could have been my old ride! Dod it have aftermarket rims on it? I know that zetectoSVT put rims on it and lowered it, and the kid that bought it kept them on. If the kid had a shaved head and a goatie, it was probably my old car!!!

The night of Elky's meet, after we left, we went to the movies in Hooksett. I saw a black SVT in the parking lot with NH tags! It had a vanity lisence plate(can't remember frown ) and it had a bike rack on it! Anyone seen this one before???
