My wife's Z24 is quick off the line, but no way would it hang with an SVT after 60'.
A normal V6 MTX it would hang with for a little bit and then the Duratec would start slowly pulling away around the 2-3 shift...
I am surprised to hear all these reports of slow Z24's. (folks 17-18 is 2.2L range) My wifes bone stock 98 LS 2.4L ATX ran 16.48 @ 84 at the crappy track here.
The Cavalier has a better power to weight ratio (HP & TQ) then a Contour does. So I don't understand why so many people can't believe they are fairly quick...
Oh well... Just beware lining up against an Indigo Blue Z24 4dr here in KC. My wife will smoke you...
