The times I gave were for 96-02 Z24 (2.4L MTX/ATX) or LS (2.4L ATX) Cavaliers.
Yes I drove a 02 Z24 MTX and thought those exact same thoughts doing so. I test drove one before we bought the wife's car.
The 02 Z24's (which became 2.2L DOHC LS Sport's) received a lot of nice improvements over previous models.
