Sell the car to a close friend or relative. Then, once you get things back in place you can buy it back! Wow!! What a great idea!!! :p

I know that car means a lot to you and you have put COUNTLESS dollars and hours into it.

If you go bankrupt, does that not screw up you credit for something like 7 years or so?

Dept consolodation may be an idea instead!

Screws up your credit for at least ten years! Debt consolodation is the right way to go. And if I were you Tim, I would seek someone who is against bancruptcy. Your future percentage points on any credit offered are going to be in the high 20's!!!

Timmay has been battling this for a while, I am 100% sure he has considered debt consolidation before bankruptcy.

Timmy, good luck bro, I know we have talked about this, and I am sad it has come down to this. You will be back on your feet in no time.

Sorry to hear that Tim. frown
Drop me a PM and let me know if you need some advice or anything as I have become pretty good with handling credit card debt through experience.
(I just got out of $15k credit card debt.)

Sorry to hear about your problem...I had the same situation 5 years ago due to divorce and high credit card balances. I to filed and started over agin with just my 96 Contour re-affirmed.
As soon as your Bankruptecy is discharged, get a Secured Visa from Capital One and start building that credit again. It took me around 3 years, but I bought a new house @ 7% interest and 1 new car at 6% interest. Still have my Contour, since it was the only thing I got our of the Divorce, accept a bunch of bills shocked
