As I recall... that car was built for the competition between automakers, Ford, Chevy, Porsche, etc. for a 0-100-0 competition. They used a great big engine, and enourmous brakes. Needless to say, the Ford didn't win. I know that a 911 Turbo was faster, but can't remember if it won or not... I think it did.
