I think it's common too for the "regulars" when they see a controversial post by a name that they don't recognize themselves as another "regular" they are more quick to throw around the insults.
if they knew ya personally, they'd be less likely to blow up and more likely to find out what you really meant by your post instead of assuming you're a jerk.
