My friend just bought a T-Red SVT. Did you have your calipers painted a body shop or did you do them yourself?

Thanks

Hey Jockey, where in Taunton do you live. As you can see from my profile, I live in Taunton as well. Right now, I live right off 44 just past the 99.

Jockey congratulations on your purchase! Hope you enjoy your Contour as much as we all do!

Did anyone else notice the member number? We've got almost 10,000 people to register at this site now! (I know only 6.6K are still registered, but still...)

Jockey Bandit...welcome to the group.

I bought RCH's CSVT...sorry 'bout that, but I see it didn't take long for you to scoop up another one.

Enjoy!

Jockey, welcome to the club!! Oh no another red, I liked being the only red at the meets!! j/k

I painted the calipers myself, I actually repainted them again the other day. It's real easy, all you do us scrub the calipers with a wire brush or some sand paper to knock off the corrosion, mask, tape, cover and wrap anything you don't wanted painted (rotor, suspension, wheel well). Then I did three dried layers of T-red, (which I had made up and put into a spray can for $12 at a local paint supply store) then I clear coated the calipers another 3 times to make them look glossy and to protect the color.

I wish I had a picture to post of them, I think the body colored calipers look very classy! I also did my rear STB in T-red and had the front grill trim ring painted body color, and I may do the real chrome strip, but I'm still contimplating that.

Let me know if you need any more info. Once again, welcome to the club!!
