I think Clemens was a different situation. Duquette didn't want him back and Clemens knew that, so he didn't pitch to his potential. Did he purposely not pitch up to his potential, but well enough to still get a good contract? Or did Duquette's lack of desire to keep Clemens around mess with his head and mess with his pitching? I don't know.
Bourque should never have been traded. There would have been no need to trade him if the Bruins won a Cup. They almost had enough talent and they had more than enough money and fan support to get the missing pieces.
Even though he made mistakes, I'll miss Bledsoe. That doesn't mean I will root for the Bills. I hope they suck so the Patriots get a good draft pick.
