Well, it happened again!
As most of you know, I dropped the SVT off last Friday for paint. Well, I got the call yesterday that the car would be done for today. So, after work, I went down to the Ford dealer to pick up the car. I was so excited to get home and check it out, I shouldn't have been.
The front bumper is a darker red than the rest of ther car. The stone chips thast have accumulated over the winter were just glazed over and still noticible (no sanding here). The A-pillars have been resprayed the same darker red and the peeled section still visible (no sanding here). The rear fenders are a darker red than the roof and trunk, visible dust embeded in the paint and there are 4 very visible paint drips HANGING OFF OF THE REAR WHEEL WELL and the peeled section has been painted over (again, no sanding here). There are some very thick spots that look as if the paint were put on with a roller (orange peeled). The rear bumper looks fine other than the dust that is again embeded in the paint. Every other body panel feels like sand paper due to the overspray (regardless of the 3 coats of zaino put on the week prior to the trip to the body shop).
Oh and the roof is rusting under the rubber molding along the top of the winshield (a section repainted less than 8 months ago).
I am going back down tomorrow to request that the whole vehicle be repainted, this being the 9TH TIME the car has had to go back in for paint. And if I could have my way, the car would be painted at another facility, a place I know would do a good job! The big problem is if it will be ready for Spring Zing. As a result of the body shop delays, I may not be able to install the waterpump prior to spring zing. It may make the trip with me, just in case.
Oh well enough ranting. Hope all else is well!!
