Anyone here have this? I was thinking about it. I seem to like the looks better than kkm. Not sure if it needs a heat shield or not though. Does this filter require maintenance? Thanks.

ummmm.....it is exactly like the KKM filter.....same picture...different words. in fact - this pic is for the 2.5L on the KKM site. Have a looksie: again - on the KKM site - the SVT version looks different....but that's the same pic they have for the 2.5L. Same filter I have on my SE. also - notice the engine in that pic.....i believe that is why CTAMotorsports requires you to specify the year/model.

Yeah, same pic. They do say their filter has a chrome end, rather than the blue. It's $79 plus about $14 for shipping.

That's exactly how my KKM came, same blue end with lettering and everything (I sanded that ugly blue color and painted it black instead). the SVT's connect as noted by Jay, but on the Cougars, it sits just as you see it. and when I purchased mine, they didn't have the chrome ends available anymore (although I believe Ben wouldn't mind parting with his that he just yanked from his cougar, as long as you don't mind a used one).

The CTA uses the same filter as the KKM, that is why it looks the same in the picture.
Doug,
The filter does require maintenance, you have to clean it every now and then. It is very easy to do.
This is a great deal because you get the same filter as the KKM for a better price.

I'm not sure if the CTA provides the connection to the cold air intake or not...

Isn't that the intake KKM sells for the NON -SVT?
I think the only difference is the blue rubber hose section that connects to the cold-air intake in the fender well.

the MAF adapter is made out of a different materila - iirc. also - the iat sensor relocator is differnt....again,iirc. there are a few differences....the actual "filter" is the same....it's the way it connects that differs. email chris and find out for sure.... later.
