That's exactly how my KKM came, same blue end with lettering and everything (I sanded that ugly blue color and painted it black instead). the SVT's connect as noted by Jay, but on the Cougars, it sits just as you see it.
and when I purchased mine, they didn't have the chrome ends available anymore (although I believe Ben wouldn't mind parting with his that he just yanked from his cougar, as long as you don't mind a used one).
