I work in the oil refining business and I know for a fact that the European diesel is a different specification than the American diesel. The Europeans have great diesel engines but these engines require a diesel that is a higher specification than the American diesel. If you had one of these European diesel engines, you would not be able to find the correct diesel to run in your car since the American refineries don?t make it, yet. If the American public showed an interest in high performance diesel engines, then things may change.
