My buddy used Verizon a while back for about a week. HORROR SHOW!!! They use Point-to-Point over Ethernet (PPoE), which is more or less a way for the ISP to turn an "always on" connection into an "on demand" connection. Nice idea, problem is that it really ****s up the works hard. I would avoid PPoE at all costs.

They don't allow you to use firewalls with their product and obtain support from them when your connection crashes or bogs down (often).

I would recomend Speakeasy.net. They've been great to me for years - my buddy tried them afterwards, but they didnt run a new line to his house, and he got slow performance, even with them. I think he may have some bad copper in his house.

Try DSLReports.com for some good advice...and good luck!
