So, I had the day off and was looking for something fun to do. I went to a Greenleaf Junkyard (ford owned). They have 11 SVT contours in various stages of dismantling (mostly shells by now).

Right up front there was a 99 Silver SVT that was apparently involved in a Ford buy back. The car looked mint, except that only the doors and rear deck lid were missing. It had only 23,XXX miles on the odometer!! Fords solution, complete dismantle!!! In the next week or so the car is going to be completely dismantled, (cutting through the Apiller to the floor to salvage the front clip, etc, etc. The rims (in mint condition) with brand new KDWs on them (Stickers still visible). The engine, exhaust, hood, dash, gauges, interior, etc... Also, we could get new parts like headlights at deep discounted pricing....

I spoke to the general manager about group purchases and what not and he is willing to work with me. Is there anything that anyone is looking for, like new headlights for less than $70, brand new Ford SVT Contour rims for less than $120 in Ford boxes (I could also get the used rims with the brand new KDWs for the same price), SVT seats, SVT exhaust, SVT engines on the shelf...?

AND A BIG DEFINATELY TO A SET OF PRE-CATS, I'll even go there and take them off myself. I think Corey wants a pair too.

I wouldn't mind engine parts too, like say a MAF, throttle body, upper IM.

I'd like a 2000 SVT Lower IM as well, since I think they have a larger bore size than the pre-2000.

I'd even look at the rear suspnsion sub frame, the part that the rear control arm connect to, since th one on my car is rusting.

I'd need to rent a u-haul truck to take all the stuff back home.

hey jay - a few problems.

1) corey already has his headers sent over to Terry - so he's out.
2) I DON'T!! hehehe I may be game for some if the price is right.
3) Terry - is unfortunately, not going to work on Contours anymore, once his current workload/schedule jobs are complete. He is moving on to another line of cars.

rerally though, where is this place. If anyone is interested and the yard operators allow it I'm game to go there and do some parts removal myself. I can load up my truck with tools that I can use to take stuff appart fast

Jsmith, sorry, since they just went greenleaf, they no longer let anyone out in the yard unless supervised and they are only open Monday thru Friday. They also will not sell anything related to catalytic converters (some kind of legal issues), however, if you could term it as you are looking for the exhaust manifolds, that would be different.

They also do not want to part the engines out, unless they have a block that has grenaded itself.

i don't work on fridays...is there anyway to get in there with you or whoever to do some salvaging?

Any '98 Contour SVT's with good interiors? The leather on the outside of my driver's seat is faded pretty bad in one spot. I'd love to get a replacement!
