Whoa!!! I came VERY close to losing my ride (and possibly my life) today!!

I was driving down Rt.33 in Chicopee (otherwise known as the "drive") heading over to my girlfriend's apartment when something weird happened.

I had to U-turn from Wendy's to head North when the car just died right there in the middle of the drive!!! I had on my hazards, and then my right blinker as I was trying to make it to the Honda dealership right next to where the car died. So, here I am, in between three lanes of traffic, and NOBODY was letting my through!! I managed to get the car started, but it wouldn't hold an idle, and would stall after I got it to about 3000 rpm. I finally see a break in the traffic and start to pull to my right.....Then, out of the blue comes this jacka** driving a blue Dodge Ram just weaving in and out of traffic. Well, the f**kin' car died again right as I was turning into this parking lot and here comes meathead in his Ram, gabbing away at his phone coming right at my passenger side doing somewhere around 50 mph!!!

I quickly put in the clutch, started the car, and tried to move.....I heard screeching tires and shut my eyes to brace for the impact.....nothing. I was confused, because I thought he was going to tag me for sure. I guess he weaved around me at the last minute, because there was rubber smoke everywhere. The guy rolled down his window and threatened to do this that and the other to me, but I was too busy having a heart attack!!(this happened 15 minutes ago, and I'm STILL shaking!) He drove off, and I managed to pull the car into the lot, pop the hood and get out. You know what happened? I guess when I took that corner, the intake hose going to trhe throttle body popped off where the MAF was, meaning the MAF wasn't getting the right readings. I grabbed a combination screwdriver that I keep in the glove compartment (great investment for 2.00$ at Autozone!) and reattached the clamps and hoses....TIGHTLY!!! Do you think someone must have been looking out for me up there??? eek

Sounds like you got lucky not have that MFer slam into you. Buy a lottery ticket tonight, it's your lucky day!

Hey Wontgrowup, I'm glad you and your car are OK!

You know what's weird? I was reading that story and I know every landmark you pointed out!

gotta watch out for guys in dodge rams.

I can't believe the MFer threatened you like that. What a cock. I'm glad to hear you and your car are OK. IT would have been tragic if anything happened, especially sice yesterday was a special day.

As for the car, I can't believe it didn't run with the MAF tube disconnected.

Was it the tube into the MAF from the filter, or the tube out of the MAF to the throttle body?

Holy Crap! Glad nothing happened. And for that guy in the truck hes a jackass, but I have come to expect that here in Chicopee from "the drive" its almost like its survival of the fittest out here nowadays smile Sometimes when I see stuff like that and there yapping on there cell phones i wanna get out of my car, rip it out of there hands and smash it on the ground. Then would come the part where i run like hell.. hehehhee

Thanks for your reply guys!! I've been getting over the Flu, so I haven't had the chance to get over to my father's to use his computer.

It was actually the MAF from the TB was disconnected-that's why I had to keep giving it gas, only to have it stall. Thank god for cheap screwdrivers!!

Mike, the drive has always been a deathtrap from what I've seen and heard over the years....I'm surprised more people don't go up there to race.
