I doubt there is enough room to put the cooler in between the radiator and the bumper, and if there is, you probably will have a hard time running the piping. (more custom piping, more $$$)

That alone would be a project in itself, not to mention you'd block quite a bit of air that was bound to hit the radiator. What's cooler air good if you're overheating sitting in traffic? Then again, I can't/won't say how that would be affected, since I certainly didn't run any tests w/ a intercooler sitting right in front of the radiator.

IMO (again, not a turbo expert), you get the water/air cooler because of packaging, and the water/air cooler is more efficient (at one point or another) than a front mount air/air intercooler, not to mention probably a lil cheaper.
