Got a nice 'in your face you yuppy bastid!!' kill this morning. Driving up Rt128 at about 6 AM this morning cruising along at 80. I spy behind me, comin up fast, a set of headlights. I moved over to let him pass. He pulls up next to me, it was an Audi, not sure what kind specifically( it was still dark out). he looks over then mashes it. i sat back and watched. not being the typ to turn down a challange, i got into it a little brought it up to about 90. he then moves over to the right to take the Rt 95 split. (this is a long and fairly sharp left, kinda like an onramp, with a speed limit of 45) lucky me thats where im going. He has about 5 or 6 car lengths on me at the start of the turn. Its two lanes and he's inthe right, i stay to the left and inside. all of a sudden he slamms on the brakes to slow down for the turn. I don't understand why....as i blow by him at 80, no brakes no downshift, and kept it right at 80. (i do this every morning) when i cam out of the turn i was at least 15 or 16 car lengths ahead. I stay at 80 and cruise along. He must not have liked that very much cuz he decided to shoot by me at mach 1. maybe he was trying to regain some of his pride. but in my book.....LOOOOOOOSSSSAAAAAAHHHHH!!! hee hee

I know all about those yuppie types. When he passed you he was saying, [with his nose pointed up] "I drive an Audi, you drive a Ford, my car goes faster."
My response to that statement. "You can go faster? Well, thats terrific, but what good is being able to go fast if you can't go fast on a corner?"

our cars handle very very well.
my favorite is the split south of boston between route 93 and 3. when you are heading north on 93, the route 3 split goes right and 93 takes a slightly sharper turn left. i always try to stay at a constant speed around this turn (usually 80). a while back i was far behind a mustang which had passed me a couple miles back. when he approached the turn i could see the brake lights come on. i caught up to him in the turn and accellerated through it on the *outside* of the turn (he was on the inside). passed him and pissed him off good.
not much good to go 100 MPH on the striaghts if you have to slow to 40 to take a simple highway turn.

One of the funniest reactions I ever had was on 24 coming from Fall River towards New Bedford southbound. I was behind a 94-95 yellow Mustang GT Convertible, top down, stereo up etc, etc... We had just passed a car that had flipped in the street, all of the cops in south eastern Mass were there. As the Mustang and I rolled through and around a corner leading into a long strait we both hopped on it. Before we know it were up to 120 and he is only ever so slowly walking away. And like you said, he was all of a sudden hard on the breaks to pull the interchange. He reluctantly yields the right of passage as I go screaming around the bend (left hander )and into the next straight. Freakin guy wouldn't even give me props for hanging in and nailing him through the corner. You know his next stop is a Jegs or Summit catalogue to see what it takes to get away from family haulers... HAHAHA

ROTFLMAO! all too funny guys! that may be one of the biggest things i am missing out here on nantucket. there are a few roads, including the one that goes towards madaket beach (where i live) that the svt would tear up. i have to drive it everyday and everyday i am saying to myself "boy, i sure do wonder how quick i could be taking these turns in the s" i read these stories day after day and i remember why i absolutely loved my svt so very much. what an awsome car. what an awsome car in the turns! i remember our last "meet" and the kid in the mustang (forgive me, i'm bad with names) commented that he had the gas guzzler that couldn't hang with the svt's in the twisties boy did i find that to be so funny and yet so true at the same time. (no offense to be made here) just reminising (sp) happy driving all!

All of this reminds me of every other maxima driver I see who thinks they're a hot shoe because they can make a 200+hp car go 115mph on a highway. Wow, did you go to Skip Barber to learn how to press the right hand pedal down 3/4 of the way or is that god given natural talent?
