Well, as an update for memebers who are looking for a reputable place to go to have your warped dash fixed, I give you Enfield Ford.
I was in a few weeks ago so they could take measurements, they called me back in less than a week to tell me the dash was in, and to schedule an appointment at my convenience to have it replaced. I called back on Friday last week, and was in yesterday for the replacement. They gave me shuttle service to and from my house (not that far away from the dealership) and the whole job was completed in less than a day! The new dash definitely needed some polishing, so I threw a couple coats of Mother's on it while the weather was cooperative, and it looks very good. I can definitely tell that this dash is held down pretty well with metal retaining clips, because it didn't look that way even when it was new (read: no arch heading towards the windshield). The only difference I can tell is that the dash seems to be an aftermarket peice, as it seems a little darker and has some VERY small blemishes on the section near the windshield, but that's it!! No more rattling!!!!! The service manager even stopped me on the way out and said that if I wasn't satisfied 100% with their work, to give him a call personally to let him know....How about that for service????

Anybody had any experience with Milbury Ford MErcury? Bought my last car there and they seemed nice enough...had one job done there. Headlight switch has a loose connection. When my car was warm the headlights would flicker on and off. It started doing this during a blizard at night.
Or do you have to take the SVT to an SVT certified dealer?

Jack Madden in Norwood, MA did a good job on my dash replacement, and no they were not an SVT dealer.

Frenzee, STAY AWAY!!!!!! They are Horrible! Thats where I bought my SVT. I have a 13 page fax that I had to send to Fords Customer Service Department, Milbury Fords Sales Manager, Service Manager, Body Shop Manager, and General Manager.
They had to paint sections of my car several times (I have receipts for 7 free rental cars over the course of 1 year) they bent my rear lower control arm and tried to blame it on me (It looked like the car was turning with the rear end), random parts were on order for up to 3 months. And thats just the body shop!
I had a problem with my secondary intake controller and everyone in the shop checked it out, felt the problem, but since no check engine light was coming on, there was obviously no problem. The head of service finally came out to test drive it with me, he felt the problem and said (word for word!!) "Well, still runs pretty good for a taurus" WTF!!!
The CD player skipped and after telling the service department that it was NOT caused by bumps, they took the car for the whole day and proceeded to tell me that they drove over every bumpy road they knew of and the CD played did skip periodically, but it was not aresult of bumps, except in some cases...Oh and BTW, I had a bent rim now too.....
I would recommend the Ford dealer in E. Brookfield..Lameriox (spelling?) my mother bought a used V-6 5-spd Mystique there, during one of the service trips, lyle lameriox came up to her and said, I hope that you are happy with the car, the service guys noticed that your tire tread was a little low so we are putting a new set of tires on at no charge.. WOW!
Sorry for the rant!

I appreciate the rant...Stay away I will. Heard a few good things about Lamoreux. I'll use them when I need repairs.

As far as I am aware, you do not need to go to a certified SVT dealer, but, since I have a reputable one within a 15 minute drive, I just take it there. Unfortunately for you guys, you live at the other end of the State. I used to work in Boston, and can't say that I miss the morning commute into Worcester to pick up the "T"

I think it says something about that in the manual about how an SVT dealer is not necessary for regular maintenance, etc. I think there was a good discussion on it in the General forums.
In any case, Mike gets his serviced at my Lincoln Mercury dealer, so I would say no, you don't have to go to an SVT dealer.

Wontgrowup how bad was your dash? Was it really wavy or was it actually up high enough so you could see it in the window. I need to get the wifes mystique done and also my SVT. I brought the mystique to a dealer and he said that it wasn't bad enough yet and to bring it back this summer if it got worse. It sounded like they would put in the fix if it wasn't that bad. But not replace it. Enfield is sort of a hike for me but if they will replace it I would bring it there. Isn't Enfield Ford a SVT dealer? It is on the same road as Bobs right?
