Well, I have confirmed the rumor that the TH fix causes a loss in power to certain Duratecs today...
Background info: My engine calibration is RJL1, with many mods, including SVT calibration, 19 lb injectors, etc... (TH fix as well) Alex has a bone stock SE with exhaust mods, that's it. (NO TH Fix!!) and Alex and I were racing at the strip today, and for some reason, every time we started, he was beating the pants off me until we were well into secondary territory. Once I had the momentum going, I'd be gaining pretty hard, but off the line he was killing me, time after time, after 5 runs.
We took a break after, and I was racking my brain, trying to figure out why I had such horrible low end power, when the possibility dawned on me... the TH fix. I promptly removed it, we ran again, and guess what... he never took the lead. Gerald was visiting Montreal this weekend, so he witnessed the whole thing. I won't be putting that thing back in anytime soon... at least not when I'm at the track. So, in short, TH fix is great for driveability, but leave it at home when you want to race. I'll probably substitute it with a hose clamp and have an adjustable restriction instead in the future, if I put it back at all.
Just wanted to share my findings...

I still have yet to see how the TH fix could hinder performance or an open idle air control valve will improve it.
It's not like the engine suddenly ingests more air through the IAC.
Personally I have seen no difference in performance running either way. Matter of fact I did not even see an improvement in rev deceleration with it installed. Not that I had a problem with hang before.
Only with the 65mm TB did I experience some minor TH and used the TH fix to stop it (~1/8" hole) It actually showed noticable improvement once I needed to use it.

-Lance[/b]Matter of fact it's nicely listed in the FAQ as well. It also states it takes 3 driving cycles to relearn the new idle speeds (normal, A/C, & headlights respectively)
