Hey all, I haven't been around much since the site now wants cookies. Glad to see you're all still active and enjoying your cars!
But came to tell you, I just saw there are still a few slots for the upcoming NE SHO club event at Devens. This is a great chance to put your ConTique's to work. Pump your tires up, empty your trunk, borrow a helmet and let 'er rip!
The NESHOC events are run whatcha brung, and there's always an interesting array of hardware. They are also very Novice friendly with plenty of instruction available. They run a ~1 mile course on the old Fort Devens airstrip, with some challenging (well for me at least!) and fast stretches. I've done the last three (this next is 4th and last of the season) and swear this is the most fun I've ever had with clothes on.
Also worth noting is that small & light cars do very very well at AutoX'ing, blew me away when a stock Neon w/only slicks (and a real shoe driving) was only .5sec off fast time of the day (full prep 911 track car) at the first one. It took me until the 3rd event to outrun a gal in a ZX2 with my 99 Cobra! (well, that's just me)
Here's a link to their site:
North East SHO Club If you've ever thought of trying some fashion of motorsports beyond the 1/4 mile, this is the scene FOR SURE. Low pressure, everyone is just having a good time with their rides.
Hope to see some ConTiques there!
Best regards,
- Jeff
