Well, I finally became a casualty of the bad economy. The company is consolidating the two plants on the east coast, and it just so happens that the plant I work at (Haverhill, MA) is the one closing and moving operations to the other one (Franklin, MA). Some people were selected to go there, be it commute or move, and some are going to be laid off when the plant is closed. I guess its a good thing I got the transition package which means I'll be laid off at the end of December. I'd rather this than have to move closer to the other plant or have to commute, or quit without severance. The commute would be 160 miles round trip. So, if you need or know of someone who needs a mechanical engineer, please let them know I'm looking!!!!

Mike,
I'm really sorry to hear the news. My father is a mechanical engineer in Worcester,I'll see if he knows of any positions in the area. The roots of his company grow in Germany so the markets overseas seem to be more of an influence for him. He's a senior Mech/Elec. engineer/project manager.
In the mean time good luck.

Mike,
I spoke to my father, can you E-mail a resume to me, maybe in a word attachment. He said he would submit it. In the mean time he will keep his eyes open.

ahh so there is more of a use out of a Math degree than just becoming a Math teacher.
