Sue and I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone that helped out with my car yesterday. We both feel that your assistance should not go unnoticed. Mike and Kim, Thank you so much for your hospitality this weekend, and for going down this morning and checking out the car. Without you I would have really been stuck! SVTdriver762, thanks for chasing down the flatbed. Also Please thank your friend for me, without him, I'd still be in the parking lot (or poor)!
And everyone else who contributed to calling the flat bed, chasing down the flat bed, spotting and lifting the fronting my car safely onto the truck and following to the dealer safely, Thank you.
Despite the car trouble, Sue and I had a great time and were very happy to meet those we haden't met before and were very happy to grow closer to those we had.
Without sounding like a person accepting an American Music Award, thanks again, I hope I didn't exclude anybody. If I can ever do anything to repay you please let me know, I owe you all one.
PS. Hope Sunday was good, my spirits were a little dashed, I couldn't muster up any pride for the Daewoo that I drove home. If I had got a Focus, I would have come and run the quarter!

You're very welcome. It was no problem at all. It's nice to be around people who are so into cars like my friends and I are. I know any of you guys would do the same.
Too bad you missed out on Sunday. It was a very good day (check out the sig!). Yup, 15.29, even with my horrible r/t. I couldn't believe it. My dial in was 15.3 (I ran a 15.4 the previous run) and I beat it. Who says the SVT isn't a drag car???
Again, It was no problem at all. Hopefully the SVT will be up and running in no time. In the meantime, beat the sh*t out that Daewoo!

Mike and Kim,
Thanks for checking on the car. I spoke to the receptionist there this morning and he said that he would speak to the service manager to see what he could do. He recommended calling at 7:30 to make early arrangements. I'm sure they will get it since I'm from out of state (Plus I said that since I'm only 24 I'm paying an arm and a leg per day just to rent the Daewoo).
My only worry is that they will have to order something like the voltage regulator or that junction box we found when I was rummaging around under the car. In which case I'll just have them bring all the parts in UPS Next Day Air.
PS. E-mail me your address so that I can go on mapquest and get directions to your house for Tuesday. Thanks again!

Brian,
The new alternator in the SVT died at some point in my journey and the Optima kept the car running perfectly until it ran out of juice as I was leaving. We were stuck in the parking lot for sometime until a flatbed came for the car.
PS. Happy Birthday!

P.P.S anyone out there reading Ryan's story here should get their asses out there and buy that battery!!!! I think Mike is going to buy one now just because of how far that thing was able to carry Ryan and his poor alternator.
Ryan, we were so glad to have you and be able to help you out. I'm sure Mike will log on from home this week and read all your updates and give you directions. Just in case he doesn't, I'll pm you the address right now.
Good luck!

Which dealer? If it's McFarland, they are usually pretty decent. I work just a few miles away.

It's actually at Autofair. That's the only Ford dealership Mike could think of that night that was close to our apartment (considering that we had already planned for Sue and Ryan to stay the night with us).
