I'm getting 26-27 mpg anyone doing better? 55K miles no tune-up yet.

I usually get 21-23 around town. A few weeks ago I took a 3 hour drive to NH and averaged 29MPG, but that was all highway, and going about 75-80 the whole time.

I was always lucky to get 20mpg in town and maybe 24mpg highway!

perhaps it's an oil/octane issue (the huge differences in gas mileage that is).

I think its engine tolerances. You'd be surprised at how differnet engines are out of the factory. Of course they are all within spec, but its the spec that's pretty much wide open.

They sure do. I checked my spreadsheet for the post: I have averaged 24.79 mpg since I took the car home over a year ago, 25.64 last 3 fillups, 25.36 last 10 fillups, the highest was 28.53 (sleepy?), lowest 19.46 (lead foot disease). Cheers?
Do they allow adult beverages at NE Dragway?
