Mike, who's the tech that works on the SVT and do they have a backlog for appointments? Finally, do they have Sat. hours? Is that where Kim got the C2?

Doug, the tech who works on my car as well as Kim's and Ben's Cougars is Mike. I have not had too much of a problem making appointments, so there probably isn't much of a back log. I think they do have Saturday hours. Give them a call at (603)224-4100 or (800)540-4521. Finally, yes, that is where Kim bought her car, and where I bought the Grand Marquis. laugh

I don't think they carry it, but I just buy it at Wal*Mart and tell them to put it in. When I supply my own oil the oil change is like $15.00

No they don't carry Mobil 1, I know that for sure.
I don't think they do any synthetic oil changes there unless you bring it in yourself, but they don't fuss one bit if you bring your own oil.

I wish walmart would get more of those 5 quart containers! those were sweet. damn good price too.

They have 'em, but are low on 5W30. I did a change this weekend and they are a pleasure to work with.

I am having a horrible experiene with Muzi Ford right now. Hopefully it's nearing it's end, as I will be asking for my money back. Since I'm currently unemployed I have a lot of time to write angry letters. smile

Anyway, we finally had a recall service performed. Coincidentally, the A/C went out in the Contour (a '96 2.0 5-speed). So we thought we'd have Muzi do 2 things at once: the recall and get the A/C working again. My thought was, what couild be seriously wrong on a car with 57K miles? So we turned it in, and they had to keep it overnight. The A/C worked fine the next day. A week later it was dead. Take it back to the dealer after waiting a week for an opening. It died 2 days later, again. I called the service manager and set up an appointment. They took the car in and let their "expert" take a look at it, which he couldn't do so they had to keep it overnight again. Then they call in the morning and say that it will cost $720 to fix because they found "small leaks on the manifold and compressor". I figured it was time for a second opinion.

I took it to an independent garage I had used before, and that co-workers had used before. He put his UV scope (or whatever it was) all over the engine compartment and said he couldn't find any leaks. He also said the leaks from the compressor and manifold wouldn't have leaked out in 2 days. So he looks on the interior and finds dye in the ducts, and thinks it's the evaporator, which will cost quite a bit to fix. But I trust him more because he's been doing this 25 years and he dosen't beat around the bush when he talks to me.

And don't get me started about the wheel bearings . . .

I live in Stoneham M.A. and work at Stoneham ford. I also own a 2000 black svt. I have seen svt cars in the shop fairly often. They may not want to get involved in any thing that has too much to do with svt specific stuff but it may be worth your time to call and ask. My family has always had good luck with them. Even before I worked there. Only prob. is they are typically backed up about 2 weeks.

Bonnell Ford was a very pleasurable experience. They looked over 4 open recalls, and fixed the one that had to be fixed. Their hours are great and to top it off they had a new 2002 BLACK THUNDERBIRD on the lot as I was picking up my car! I wish I had the camera!

The next time I need service, I will go to Bonnell.
