i posted this in the general section, but i wanted to let everyone here know too. and i quote from the general section: this is a warning to all who live in massachusetts. i brought my car in last week and they hit something on the road test. they caused over a grand in damages. they scratched up my front spoiler, and ripped off half of my passengers side rocker panel. never mind the three nice scuff markes on my rims. they have taken a week to fix it, in fact, it's been over a week and i still dont' have it. their service has been horribe and no one there seems to care that they are an authorized "svt dealer." they are HORRIBLE. i warn everyone in the area to stay away. mad

I bought a 93 Probe GT from Framingham Ford and had all kinds problems too. One time I came into the shop to check on it and the service technicians had turned on all of my strobe lights (I was a fireman at the time) and was driving through the service bays having a grand old time.

Millbury Ford has had to repaint my roof 6 times just to get it right! They also jacked the rear of my car up on the rear suspesion sucessfully changing the toe in by like 30 degrees (new right hand rear suspension installed at no cost and in one day)

You should see what a nine page fax sent to Ford's Customer Service department and cc to the President and CEO of Millbury Ford, the head of the service department and the head of the sales department will get you.

I find these stories of horrible customer service and poor care in handling customer property atrotious.

I work in corperate aviation, where the customer is god. If anything gets dirty or dameged for any reason while in the care of the our maintainence facility, it is our responsibility to fix it immediately reguardless of cost. In fact I know of people who were fired for simply making foot prints on the airplane's carpet, or even scratching the paint.

If the automotive industry adopted these principals we all would be happier. Now, don't come in and say that if we expect impeciable service we will pay higher labor rates, where I work, we service $20 million airplanes and charge $78 per hour. Granted most airplanes average 1000 to 2000 labor hours for a service check, but that is besides the point.

thank you jsmith, that's all i'm saying. i've been in retail jobs for the better part of the past seven years and the customer is always put first. i just feel that if i can treat someone with respect and dignity that i should be treated the same way. i have written a letter that will sent to ford motor company and the bbb. i just want everyone to know about this horrible incident. they did a pretty crappy job fixing it too. what a** holes!

i reported Sentry Ford to the BBB and to Ford Corporate with not even as much as an appology for doing a horrible job with my water pump/timing belt replacement. i ended up paying twice as much for the service as i was quoted because THEY broke a bolt in the engine. to top it off, they put the engine mount on wrong and i had to go back twice to have them realign it to the factory location. (it would make a wierd jiggle/rattle at idle)

so, cross SENTRY FORD in MEDFORD off your list too.

Regan Ford is Haverhill is bad, but not that bad. i'll never go back there again, tho.

my next stop is Bonnell Ford in Winchester. they are an SVT dealer and were very attentive when i told them my reservations about getting work done at a dealership. i have to get 4 recalls checked out. i'll let you know how it goes on August 13.

also, i bought some parts from Nassar Ford in Lawrence recently... i was very impressed by the cleanliness of the service bays and the parts department. very professional and very organized in comparison to Regan and Sentry. but still no Infiniti dealer. they are the BEST!

Hmmm...seems to be a general consensus that Ford dealerships suck. Fair enough, I've dealt with Harr in Worcester and haven't been that impressed either.

So why doesn't everybody take their cars to Audi/Infiniti/BMW dealerships if they are better ?? Just a thought, if I ever need major work done to my car, I will consider bringing it to a brand dealership but not a Ford one.

Thoughts anyone ??

Add Iverson Ford in billerica, MA to the list of no-go dealerships.

A few months after I bought my CSVT (Dec, 2000) my CEL light and coolant light came on w/in a couple days of each other. I took it to Iverson to have it looked at. They told me (1) that the CEL was from an O2 sensor in the exhaust and that I would need a whole new exhaust system ($700+) and (2) that they weren't completely sure what the coolant light was from but they tought it might be a "sending unit" ($120). They were going to try replacing the sending unit to see if it fixed the problem. HA!

What a croc of **** that all was! I told them to forget it, I'll pay the $70 diagnostic fee and take my car. When I picked up the car, the CEL was off and to this day has never come back on. I filled the coolant tank up a little above full and like magic, the damn coolant light went out.

I'm thinking either Bonnel (like mentioned already) or Nashua Ford.

Just my $.02...'cause it still pisses me off when I think about it! mad

The best dealership service I have recieved was at a Lincoln/Mercury dealer. Its in Concord NH so its probabaly not feasable for many of you, but they are awsome. They do great work, and take pride in the cars they work on. They even installed my Eibach springs and ST200 struts!! I have a dedicated mechanic who works on my car, so he knows the history of my car. When he does an alignment, he tries to get it right on 0 instead of within spec. I've also had Grappone Ford do some work, and they are alright, but considering my father worked there for 20 years I think I got the good treatment. I still felt like a number though. Too many people go there. Concord Lincoln/Mercury is pretty small, but very very good!!! laugh
