I'm putting this in here now. Chris and I designed this course we're the ones organizing it etc etc. So Billy and you guys.. No excuses that you didn't know I was the guy setting this up.
Well Chris Ezikian and I have just returned from setting up the
course. This looks like it will be a good one. We tried to simplify
it a bit from the last one. (So not so many of you get lost this
time :-Þ )
We will start at Hacklebarney State Park
(
http://www.state.nj.us/dep/forestry/parks/hackle.htm). We plan to
set-up there for registration at 10:30 am. and we will close
registration at 11:30. We will then hold a drivers meeting at 11:45
or so and get everyone started at 12:00. We will NOT be doing a
mileage rally. This will be a timed rally with points scoring. You
WILL need a navigator, so grab a partner to read the directions for
you.
The points will work as follows.
Arrive exactly on time at the finish. No points (which means you'll
probably win)
For every second FASTER than the time we will penalize you 1 full
point. (it doesn't pay to go faster on this one and we don't want
anyone with tickets.)
For every second SLOWER than the time we will penalize you 1/10th a
point. (Going the speed limit and under is GOOD)
For every missed clue a 10 point penalty will be assessed.
And you will be recieving a sealed envelope. Inside this envelope
will be the final destination. If the envelope is opened 200 point
penalty. So you may want to hold on to them and turn them back in at
the end.
We will have a cell phone for people to call in case of EMERGENCIES
only, this will be given out at the drivers meeting. If you get
lost.. well there is always the envelope.
I hope to see a bunch of cars at the Rally. The last one we had was
a lot of fun. This one should be also.
