Ok.. you can always check out

http://www.autocrossnyc.com for the local sites. A friend of mine runs it.

You need to be at Englishtown about 9am.. registration closes at 9:30 am.

I have to be there about 8 am.. because of the tire changing I have to do.. so whatever your groans are.. tough.. I'll be there earlier. And if you show up later.. you can always run over and play at the drag races, just make sure you stop by and say 'ello.

I wish I could make it this Saturday since it seems a few Tours will be there but I have plans to go to Paddlesport 2002 in Jersey.
Just a note to those going to watch I did the same thing last year before I autox'd. It really is pretty simple but you'll have a nice feel for how the day runs by just relaxing and watching. Good luck to all!

Ok.. I've thought long and hard about this. I just spent most of this last week sick from the weather. I have decided that I am not going to the Autocross, I may go down and watch for a bit, but I'm not going down to participate.

I'm doing this because I'm sick of being sick and I want to get better. One sure way to NOT accomplish this is by going down tomorrow at 7 am and changing tires. (it will be cold.. it will be cold.. it will be cold.)

Running the course.. and then working the track (which translates into standing outside for 11/5 hours in the cold wind) while the other classes run. I'm just not going to do it this weekend. However provided it's just a bit warmer.. (not so damn windy.. wind chill factor played a big role in my decision)

I will definitely be there next Saturday as that is the first points event of the season. (which basically means I won't miss it no matter what)

So I hope people don't go down there expecting to see me. If I was running stock tires, I may have decided to go.. but with the changing tires thing.. uhhh no.. not gonna happen.

I here you dave your health is more important plus it's not really a important event. I too don't think I'm going to go unless I get someone else to go with because My car isn't in that good of shape for the long hual. On my way home from last sundays meet I was on the parkway at the 168 toll exit. I came out of the toll hard in first and banged 2nd a little too hard and something broke because it made a horrable noise and I saw pieces falling out the back of my car as I looked through the rear view. It's drivable but I don't want to chance it. So it's going in for service on monday. I'll let you know what I broke. If anyone is still going down and would like some company let me know because I still want to go.
