Who else is going to Englishtown this saturday for the autocross. I'm going down to watch because I never autocrossed before but I really want to try it. Hopefully I'll learn a couple things just by watching before I get out there and end up doing something stupid. If anyone is interested in going down give me a buzz.

I'm in the same boat - never autox'd before, but want to try (though I'd rather watch the first time around). I think I can make it this Saturday if that's a plan. Any particular time?

Ralph, it's pretty easy and its a great way to learn how to drive your car. I have done it a few times up at the Palisades Mall. At first just go slow the first couple of times. then after the second or third time you will get the hang of it

Go down and run in the Novice class. You get to have an instructor run in the car with you that way.
I should be there.. provided I'm better. That's going to be a rough day for me.. get up.. 6am load car.. drive there.. change tires, race.. change tires.. drive home.. unload car... go to road rally in Westchester.. Drive road rally...

What kind of rubber are you running on for auto-x? Also, what's it cost to run at the new track?

I'd like to go.
I am not too sure if I am ready to race yet but i guess there is no time better than now. I do have a set of the stock BFG's that are pretty well worn and I wouldn't mind trashing them but on etire has a small buldge and I am not too sure if I would pass inspection.
Plus after my performance at the Silicon Raceway I will surely kick ass!

New track isn't open yet. This is the SCCA auto-X. I run bfg R1's.. they're getting a bit old and worn out. I'm still debating whether to get a new set of kuhmo's.
How big is the bulge?? If it's minor I doubt they'd notice. I ran about 4 AutoX's with a 1/4" deep slice in my sidewall and didn't have a problem. Still I much prefer my R1's.. even if they are slowing me down now. .. (they are really worn out..)

I think that I will try to make it. I guess I will wake up early and switch the rims/tires over. Ralph, If you are coming down 287(Boonton), you can stop at my place and we can convoy down.
