Hey man....I feel your pain.
This is the best advice I can give you, if you are from CT you have nothing to lose by going to court and fighting the ticket except time. If you are not from CT you could fight it or not? It is kind of tricky. Ive been in and out of court quite a few times and my experiences have led me to believe if you dont want points take the time out to fight the ticket. If you are out of your state and get a moving violation from what I hear at least one point is going to be transfered to your DL but ive also heard that if you just pay it there will be no points transfered. It is hit or miss. BUT if you do go to court be prepared. Dress the part of a neat law abiding citizen and talk to the prosecutor and see what he is willing to do for you. Some guys want to hear your side some dont. If im not mistaken you are looking at a 4 pt. ticket for your speed. Usually the court will amend that to a 2 pt. ticket and youll pay a higher fine. If you are lucky and he is told that this is your first offence he might ammend it even further but dont count on it. If you dont want any points at all then it is time for you to go get your local Johnny Cocrane. It is not cheap for a lawyer but you get what you pay for. Expect to pay upwards of 200 to 500 dollars american to get yourself one. If you have one you will be in and out of court much quicker and with no points in most cases. But you will be paying bucks. In your situation I dont see a need for one but it is up to you. I would go there and see if you can have it ammended down and pay a little more for less points. Hope this helped and if you have any more questions Ill be happy to try and help.
