Really appreciate your concern slim. That is a great find on the trannys for sale.

I just spoke with the mechanic, he says it is a fork not catching the gears properly(?). He said I wouldn't have to replace the trans and I sighed relief man. He says the warranty company may actually pay for it too (I'll believe that when I see it). Even if I do have to pay for it, it will be much cheaper than a new trans. Kudos. Cheers.

Should have the car by Friday. laugh cool
Then I'll go back to SweetVT! laugh cool

The "transmission depot" where the car is being repaired is waiting for a part from Detroit. I am still waiting to hear from him. He called on Friday and asked me if I wanted to replace the clutch too as it looks like it might go within a couple of months  . I said no, I'll wait till it goes and fix under warranty. I think too many shifts wears down the transmission and related parts very quickly in this area because there is no cruise time ('cept late at night) only lights and traffic. I might sell the car frown .

On top of that I almost broke my ankle playing basketball last week. I am in a soft cast and have to rest it for at least a week. So even if I did get the car back I couldn't drive it because my left foot is in severe pain. Probably won't be able to drive the car for a month. Luckily I got a new beater cool , a 92 grand marquis to replace the 87 crown vic, If you see it you'll know it by the license plate: LOVE USA!

Roadrunner: you think I should slap on the supercharger and have a $10,000 Marauder? laugh cool

Sell it? didn't you just get the car?

I don't think, infact i'm almost positive a clutch replacement is NOT a warranty thing, it's a wear and tear item. I probably would wait till a later date as well, unless they weren't charging to install the clutch, but anyway it's not a warranty thing.

Cluth is NOT!!!!!!!! A warranty item past 12,000 miles.

If you've gone beyond that, it's now a normal wear item and you're the one responsible for it's replacement cost.

Even if you did that, it still wouldn't be a Marauder...
