Hey everyone. I'm new to the CEG, b/c I'm new to owning a Contour! I just bought a 98 MTX SE with 52000 miles on it. It's quite an improvement from my first car - a 95 Ford Escort MTX LX. Right now many plans are on the page for it, once I get my tax return back I would like to get a short shifter, but most improvements will have to wait till the summer.

By the way, I'm from Caledonia, but I go to school in Rochester @ RIT. Hope to talk to some fellow Contour owners around here!!

Hi Chris,

I went from a 95 Ford Escort LX Wagon ATX to a 98.5 COntour SE Sport ATX, and I loved it!
Miss the room the wagon had, but I really don't need all that extra room now.

There is plenty of info here for ya.
Just scream at one of us if you need any help !

Hey, I went to RIT too. Graduated in '99. But I work about 5 miles from campus, on the other side of the airport. I go by RIT almost every day...

So can the people from around Rochester tell me where's some good places to start getting enhancements from? Should I start at Ford dealerships, or what?

The dealer won't have squat for performance parts, especially for a Contour. You pretty much go to the mail/internet order businesses (like KKM, etc) to get your parts. You might be able to get a dealer to install some stuff, but you might be better of doing it yourself. I suppose you can try that shop on Jefferson Ave across from RIT, but its mostly ricer fare, I doubt you'd find good stuff there...

Sure, it'd be cool to start something like the SVT/SHO Society of Michigan, except it'll be for Contour/Cougar/SHO. laugh
