If the person who sold you the car included in the sales contract that it had an extended warranty, and that perhaps now in effect it does not, go after the seller.
If you're sold one thing which ends up being another, I'm sure you have legal rights.
Aftermarket warranties are notoriously unreliable, heck even Ford's ESP can be a pain to transfer and take advantage of sometimes.
Bottom line here is that if you paid a price for the car that to your knowledge included the x-warr, you should get some money back from the seller if the coverage can't be transferred to you.
