The first one was last Friday on route 19 in West Virgina. It was T-Red. The second was silver driving through Miami on Wednesday. Anyone we know????

By the way, I took my girlfriend's 1996 Ford Taurus. After getting back to Fort Myers from Miami, we were missing first gear. With only 78K miles on the clock, we had to get a new re-man transmission. And that only cost me 3000K. But I give Germain Lincoln Mercury credit. They had the car ready for me the next day.

I will never own another Ford again. Quality sucks.

Toyota rules. Next car will be a Celica GT-S. The SVT is a blast to drive but I always have that nagging worry in the back of my mind like when will the water pump go? When will I spin a bearing? When is second gear going to give out? How much longer before I am stuck owing the bank 10 grand for a junk car?

Ford sucks.

You mean 3K. 3000K is 3,000,000. I would not go to a dealer for a transmission rebuild that?s why it cost you $3,000.00.

What kind of problems have you had with your Contour?

Hey A$$hole. I own an SVT Contour. I'd rather drive a Celica. Don't get me wrong, I love the Contour but the durability sucks. And I do take care of my cars. We didn't even have the title yet and the tranny was shot on the Taurus. Some old man drove it before us and yes, it was well maintained. The tranny went on our VACATION and unless I wanted to sell the car and buy two plane tickets or trade it in on a new Ford Focus with what, ah, 8 recall so far, I needed the dealer to fix it so I could go home on time to WORK the three grand off.

FORD. POS.

I say we give Ford bad advertising on sites like this and maybe they will learn to take care of their dwindling market share. Or is that their strategy? Mass produce junk and make a killing in dealer repairs?

I had a Toyota Corolla prior to my first '95 Contour. That thing I regularly revved to 7 grand and beat the hell out of that car. It never needed any repairs, ran great, great gas mileage and was dependeble and a blast to drive. A car is that is never fast enough to pass the nearest service station is not fast to me.

i wasn't trying to b an a$$hole,u a$$hole..i was just saying that u are trying to make it out that all fords are pos, because u had 1 tranny go out..all cars have problems, but i guess all toyotas r perfect and never have problems...u are fos...if u want a toyota so bad u need to sell ur ford and buy one..if u hate fords so much why did u buy 1 in the first place..u think ford is gonna jump up and listen to some dork that's crying about his tranny breaking?that's just gonna fix the whole ford motor company...the one american car company that actually cares about performance(2003 cobra for example and svt focus for another)ford also happens to build some of the best selling cars and trucks in america...i have owned nothing but fords my whole life,(besides the 92 jag my wife now drives, but its ok ford owns jaguar)and have never had an ounce of out of the ordinary trouble with any of them(both of my highly modified mustangs ran perfectly well past 150k w/o any problems besides replacing a clutch, and both were drag cars, and both passed emissions)i take great pride in owning fords,i'm especially proud to be an svt owner(an awesome division of ford that builds nothing but damn fine cars and trucks)...so if ur so sick of fords go sell urs and buy that toyota, and find u a toyota website to whine and cry on...all cars break including ur beloved toyotas,so quit ur whining....

Celicas are a design embarassment. Extremely well designed cars, and fun to drive, but from an asthetic sense, I think Toyota really messed up. The older ones had cleaner lines!

I just don't know how to respond...

Although I will say that ALL CARS have problems. Granted, there are those that you don't see on the side of the road as often, but they still have their problem. You still run the risk of having a lemon in any car company. Better check what you say before you come bashing a car we all love...

EDIT: And by the way, at 78,000 miles you never know what can go wrong with a car...

Fords suck..

Actually, I think all American cars suck. The Japanese have it all figured out when it comes to cars, and they learned it all from the Germans smile

who gives a sh*t....really.

all cars have problems eventually.....cars are cars, they're not perfect.

just fix it and go on your way and if it doesn't make sense to fix it, get rid of it.

get over it.....no need to get into a typing war over it....
