Had the A/C on full blast on Sunday, then decided to turn the fan speed down. No matter what position I turned the dial, the fan wouldn't come on...only one that works is full blast! Sux! Now I gotta take this thing in.

I also noticed that the plastic defrost vent on the top of my dash keeps popping out. Every once in a while you'll hear a loud crack while driving coming from that plastic defrost vent. I always wondered what that was, and now I know. It's my dash warping. I may just have the recall on the dash done at the same time as my fan.

If you want to get daring, you could pry off the panel and fix it yourself. I'd bet a small sum of money that it's just a regular potentiometer (POT, Volume Knob), meaning you can yank it and get a replacement at radion shack. If you can solder, you can put it in. Also, note the length of the shaft (sounds gay huh?) believe me, you don't want to spend 20 minutes cutting a $2 part down to size. I'm full of info, when I was 18 I BS'ed my way into a technician job at chucky cheese! HTH

isn't there a recall out on the fan switch?

There has been an EXTENDED WARRANTY TSB on the HVAC Blower Switch, AND HARNESS.
