Hey NY CEGers, I wanted to ask any of you that bought your cars at McCarville what kind of interest rate you got if you financed through them. They've got a 99 svt I want. Just wanted an idea to compare what they will tell me. I only called and asked about the car. About to call and see if they can give me financing info over the phone (before driving 2 hrs to waste my time). I'm from CT but hang out a lot in NY. If and when I get my svt, maybe we can set up a meet.
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

hmouta Depending on how old you are makes a big deal I just took out another loan from the bank of ny and paid off my old one, give mccarville a chance and see what they can do. If your really interested in the car then get a loan that you know you can afford and go and buy the car, or take that loan and see if they can do better. good luck

Slim Shady, I'm 23. My 95 gl is in my dad's name but I pay all the insurance and paid for the car. I've applied online to all the loan companies and so far none have taken me. I don't have any monthly bills. I make more than enough to pay the car each month along w/ insurance. I live w/ my parents so when the apps ask if I rent or own and what I pay for rent or mortgage, I don't know what to put. I end up putting that I own and pay nothing. Is this screwing me up? Should I put that I rent and make up an amount that I pay my own parents each month? Assuming I get a loan of say 18000, I can pay this at 60 months (48 months if I have to) no problem and without even a down payment. But I'm probably trading in my 95 gl worth about 3000.

And I have good credit. My student loan has been paid off for a while. All my credit cards are paid off. Got rid of the ones I don't use. I go to school and have been working steady for about 4 years.

If you had a student loan in your name then you should be able to get good credit depending on how much the loan was for. It's ok that you live with your parents and have no expensives. The price i think is a little steep but then again mccarville is expensive so try to work with them.

They are actually selling the car for 16995. Its got 10918 miles. KBB lists the retail value around 18000. I wanted to get a loan for 19000 to cover miscellaneous expenses. And yes the student loan was in my name. I called them today but they said they couldn't do anything today because banks are closed. Though I don't know then what they do if they get customers on a Sunday...tell them to come back monday.

www.nadaguides.com has the retail price between $14,600 and $16,450 depending upon options. I would bust them down on the price a bit...try getting it closer to $16K. Funny, I was looking at that car on Friday when I picked up my car from service. I was going to post that it was on sale, but I am kinda pissed at them right now

I'm glad you mentioned that. I was going to see if anyone was close by who would be king enough to take a look at the car. Did it look like it was in good shape? Thanks for the price info. I'll look into it further.

Nada lists retail for it at 16000 and kbb lists it for 18280. Seems McCarville has the price right at the middle. I'll try working it down, but at this point I'm focusing on actually getting financing. Carfax report says the car is super clean. McCarville said the car just came off a lease. A lease with under 11000 miles I have to assume the owner didn't beat up on it in the two years or it would likely have more mileage. I'm taking this into consideration and the fact that it's listed $5000 under msrp. If I have to pay the 17000, I'm comfortable with it. I just really want to get my hands on it. I know the car's not going to sit around on the lot long.

Did not take a long look at the car, but it did look clean from the outside
