On first generation Contiques, the injectors sit on the lower manifold and not in the manifold as with 98 and newer models. There are flat gaskets that act as seals between the injector and lower manifold. Well, these seals, from heat, get hard and brittle and eventually leak. Replace the seals and your raw gas smell should go away.
