My dad has a clear bra on his ML320. On silver, you can't really see it other than up close. It's very thin, and seems to be protecting his front end just fine. But it will probably not protect on the ones that can really do damage like a bra would.

My pops has the same on his 2002 C320. It came standard with the car. On the silver it's not so noticeable.

If anybody with a pre-98 wants a full kit they have to buy from Stongard. Xpel sells a partial kit. Also Stongard is the only carrier of headlight protectors for pre-98s, though they're at a good price.

No matter what manufacturer. Like APT stated; they all use 3M Scotchcal.
Putting this product down over chips is pretty silly IMO. It just means the chips will permanently be there and visible!
This type of protection should be done Before the chips occur or after the front has been repainted (proper curing time of course)
If I had found this product available for the SVT early enough I would most definitely have used it on the hood & bumper face. If I ever get the front repainted it will be used.
I did put Scotchcal on the wifes 02 Z24 headlights. (normal hood bra as well)
Installation of the larger pieces must be a PITA. Think of thick, unwilling tint that has to be perfect and no bubbles. Professional installion is Highly recommended!
BTW - black is the worst color to do this too! Lighter colors fair much better.
