3M Scotchcal products are very popular for IS300's because the paint is very soft. A friend of mine got it for his IS300 and loves it. I have some damage to my bumber that will get replaced and painted (as well as my hood) and I intend to get someform of protection for it immediately afterwards. The major angle you can see the product on the vehicle is when standing next to a front tire looking on the hood - you can see where the hood protection stops. But, step back a few feet and it's gone unless the car is dusty as the dust settles at the end of the protection film.

Sold under the following brands:

Stongard
Xpel
Invicta-Shield

I personally have not decided which I will buy. The Stongard is appears to be the best for my car as it is thicker than the Xpel (Invicta-sheld unknown thickness) and uses the most solid pieces. For example the bumper is a single piece so you are sure to see no lines, but installation is harder (or more expensive) and the material costs more. But it is about $150 more than either of the other brands plus installation is about $300 for the full kit. I'm a pretty cheap person so I may get the Invicta-shield kit as it comes with the supplies to do it myself. I plan to have my car repairs within a month and the car will be parked until I get it protected. I will report decisions and results as well as pictures when completed.
