The end links are what your sway bar attaches to...I have some pics if you want to see what it might look like.

Anyway, you really need to get under the car to see what is wrong. I know my SVT has a rear thunk when I drive off and it is the e-brake cable. On the other hand, my 96 Contour makes funny noised too and I looked and found it is the bushings with no e-brake problems...I figured the year of you car it might be the same thing.

Try searching the problems forum, this has been discussed in the past, lots of good info.
