Just returned from a driving vacation to North and South Carolina, covering a total of around 4000 km in my '98 SVT. The car didn't skip a beat or use a drop of oil, and returned up to almost 700 km per tankful of premium gas (US$1.69-1.79 per US gallon), cruising at 65-75 mph. On the return trip, the car had a distinct "Eibach-ish" stance to it, loaded with maybe 500 lbs of goods (besides my wife and I), including a new baby crib. In summary, the SVT performed admirably as an interstate cruiser, back road banshee, outlet mall shuttle and pack horse. The only negatives to the trip include a large raspberry to the unknown fool at our hotel in Myrtle Beach who supplied me with my first door ding, and the observation that at 80,000 km, the suspension is showing some wear and will require some (expensive!!) upgrades in the near future.
