The Koni's had duty of $35. Total tax was $95 and broker fee of $45. The Eibach's had no duty because they are made in the USA. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I got totally hosed on my Konis at the border. Brokerage fees suck. Total was $184.66, won't know the breakdown until I pick them up from my local UPS depot. At least, I'm assuming they're the konis, based on the brokerage fees. If they put 200 bucks surplus on my H&R springs, I'm going to be pissed

What we need to do is get someone who lives in buffalo or niagara falls ny let us ship there. Then we just go over and get them. Otherwise might as well buy from here.

dckspy, If I remember that is what I paid. I think the accurate totals were $50 for broker, $40 for duty. Keep in mind though that when these items are ordered from the US that we are charged no tax at all unitl they reach the border. The only "extra" you pay in this case is the $70 or so for duty and broker fees. The GST & PST, there is no way around. Your Eibachs will be much cheaper. There is not duty and the declared value is quite lower so your broker fee is also lower. I would love to have someone order the stuff in the future across the border and then go down and bring it across.... did I say say sneak it across?? With all of these charges and even with the exchange I figured out that I saved a few hundred on the combo. Cheers Fern [This message has been edited by SVTFern (edited April 12, 2001).]

Yeah. I got a slip inmy mail box from ups yesterday too. Pretty sure it was from my Koni's. $176. What a rip off. I think it may have been cheaper to drive to sean hyland to get them for $214 a piece - that is if they could get them

Yeah, I know we don't pay tax until it hits the border (no duty on car parts, etc). It just really annoys me that the brokerage fees are so high, and so (seemingly) arbitrary. I'd like to see what they use to calculate them if Timeless gets charged 176 total and I get 182ish, and we both live in Ontario (I'm assuming) I'm pretty sure we still came out on top with savings, but probably only just, since we saved about $120 US on the struts.
