I was thinking of replacing my stock muffler. I was just wondering if anyone had any sugguestions on which is best. I want one that isn't raspy or honda like. Just one that sounds deep but not loud at loud speed, sorta like a 'sleeper' muffler.

Did you like the sound of my muffler/system? (Black Mystique). It's a Flowmaster 40 and the system is with an inline resonator routed with 2.5" stainless. The muffler itself cost $40. No rice here.

You might want to look at DynoMax Ultra Flow. It has a deep mellow rumble at idle and low RPM, but if you walk on it, it doesn't get too loud. Not a bad setup. You might want to take a listen to a few of the other members cars though. It's a personal taste thing.

Just one that sounds deep but not loud at loud speed, sorta like a 'sleeper' muffler. I have my old cat back dual exhaust sitting in my garage. Sell it for $100 bucks. It was cut in two in the section just under the rear suspension. That was done so I could get it home but it can be sleeved and welded. It has 2 Flo Pro mufflers and a glass pack. The mufflers were $125 each. It has 2@ 3" chrome tips too. You just need to build a right side rear muffler hanger. Any shop can do it. If you are willing to go to Oakville, I can arrange to have the system installed. ------------------ 95 Contour SE (200HP all bolt ons)

Hi Chris, I may be interested. Need more details though - ie, what size is the piping, is it mandrel-bent, etc. Also, do you have any sound clips of your car with this setup? Thanks.

There are lots of sound files on Project SE with that exhaust on the car. The most recent were taken with the 3" chrome tips. Read through the comments and you'll be able to pick out which files. Sorry the sound quality wasn't the best. http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/gear/777/Profiles/profilecawong.htm
