I ran into two guys with new preludes about a year ago, only a couple months after I got my svt (99) Two of us raced  up a three lane in northern Detroit. He jumped out ahead quickly but as soon as I hit 3rd the Svt reeled him in quick and by touching 4 I had him by over a car length. he gave a quick thumbs up and turned at the next light. Not sure what mods he had other than some HKS & AEM stickers. just my experience. it was fun!

65mm T/B, Aussie Pipe, 8" AFE filter, Fogs & Knauberized, Res Removed, AutoMeter Pro ShiftLite, Ground Controls, Konis, Aussie Bar, Magnaflows (uninstalled), Mirko Splitter (3" off the ground and beat to HE**)
"give 'er, eh!"

Scroll down to the bottom of that Prelude thread. They like us! We're "more mature than them" and we're "cool". Sounds like we got some respect.

It is a close race. I've been down that road before. Whoever gets the jump wins.

Agreed. Some kids have no understanding of what a "stock for stock" discussion is about..
At that point w0rdie needs to race a juiced SVT.
As far as his car steering circles around an SVT, I'll take it he hasnt spent time in the right one.. I'd gladly give him a handling demonstration in my car.

Taken from the lude board:
"A drivers race is a RSX S with a Vtec lude. Now thats a drivers race."
take a car with very similar numbers to the SVT, but an import, and it gets respect on their board.
Maybe if the Contour SVT had been made under Mazda's badge then they would give it props?
I just think it's funny how most domestic drivers see their cars as faster than they really are against imports, but are honest with themselves when comparing to a mustang gt for example.
Import drivers do the exact same thing, they could smoke my car stock to stock, but against an RSX - S it's a drivers race.
And the guy that keeps posting about how he smoked a stock tour with Nitrous on his car when everyone is trying to discuss stock to stock is just an idiot.
Rant Over.

Eh... I'm gonna have to defend my boys on this one.. *1* guy beat *1* stang GT from a roll.. Nobody else beat a stang gt, and the stang guys came over to talk smack and it got into a big heated 5 page thread. There's also another thread that says "Got beat by a Stang GT"....

Yeah, but at the same time the topic of that thread tells a lot. Of all the car boards I've been on this one (tour and tique) owners seem to be the most grounded in reality. Most of the time someone would say "I can't believe I beat a gt" or "he must have been a bad driver".
Sure, some tour/tique owners boast and brag beyond the abilities of their cars, but from reading some of the posts in that forum (kills) on your site it seems much more rampant among lude owners. (at least those that post on the site).
The "heated" discussion is a result of most guys on the stang boards being high and mighty then clashing with the mostly high and mighty (to my knowledge thus far) lude owners. Prove me wrong...
