Sup guys, hopefully this aint too off-topic, but I was just wondering how you SVT guys fared versus 5th Gen Preludes (97-01)... It looks like a pretty close race, with the Prelude weighing in just under 3000lbs and rated at 200hp with 156lb/tq .. Let me know how you guys have fared against them.

As close as it gets! Both cars have 200 HP, both weigh about 3000lbs, have 5 speeds with similar ratios. In fact, C&D tested them in the same issue once and both ran the same 0-60 MPH (6.9 sec) and 1/4th mile (15.4@91), top speed 143 for SVT and 141 for lude, both pulled .86g. ATTS would slow the lude but make it faster in the turns. Any way you slice it, the best driver wins...

same price tag and they're both discontinued too :p ... There's controversy going on in a Prelude forum I frequent and I just wanted to get opinions of some CEGers.. Anyone else line up against a Prelude?

The Type-SH is pretty fast, runs low 15s stock. I think it will be a driver's race. But...the Prelude still has a larger aftermarket so expect many to be faster than SVTs.

You should give us a link to that forum, just so we can read what they think about it.

I don't think the SH has anything different other than the normal ones...other than suspension and maybe a LSD...If my memory serves me correct. You are right about the aftermarket though I agree stock for stock best driver wins!

5th gen preludes are pretty quick, most have been known to hit high 14's out of the box. As for the SH model the only difference is the painted trims and the ATTS which "acts" like a LSD but isn't. As far as racing goes, they both are quite similar, it all goes down to driver. Whether it is roadcoarse, autoX, or drag, with a slight advantage to the Lude with less weight. Its just a drivers game.

I went to the website and read your post Jape and i can admit that Lude owners do tend to act "high and mighty". I am not saying there aren't Svt owners that don't act that way, but a good majority of us don't. But from my experiences here in dallas, seeing another CSVT it's oh "Hey there's an SVT!" and we go up to them and give them a thumbs up as does the other person. I have yet to see Lude owners do that at all. I mean we are a small community compared to the many sites of preludes, but we act like a family here. Where i am at people host b.b.q. and meets just about every week ( sorry dallas ceger's i never quite make it to them) and have national meets. Now if more lude sites act that way, it would be awesome. But one exception is Hondaprelude.com, they are a pretty good group and also my friend is the webmaster of that site. You should try him sometime its PilotSi.
