Hey all.

To make a long story short, about two moths ago I got rear ended and launched into a ditch, totally ruining my rear bumper mad . The 16 year old non-insured girl that hit me offered to pay for the damages. I thought that she was young, stupid, and didn't need any bad marks on her record, so I took her up on the offer  . I got a quote from the dealer ($850 +paint), got her to pay me, and then went looking at the used auto parts places around the nation.

I found a place in NY called S+J Auto. They said that they could get me one for $350. I jumped on it b/c I couldn't find one within $100 of that. ~Well two weeks went by, and they said that their supplier sold it and that they would give me another one right away. ~Another 2 weeks went by, and then they said some guy ran over that one in the yard  . Then, last week, they sent me a maroon bumper for a regular contour, and I was a little mad to say the least~I drive an SVT. Now, I am currently waiting for the new bumper to arrive, but I am not sure if it will make it here by May 18th. frown So, if I don't have it by then, I am putting out a disclaimer that it doesn't always look that way.... laugh

BTW, Got the new cross-drilled rotors and new 17" wheels, just waiting for the tires. laugh

I just got a new bumper! laugh They sent me a Maroon SVT one (I still have the regular SE one as well, they haven't called for it either wink ), and I have to say, I kinda like the look of the maroon! Looks better than my silver frost. Maybe I've just become use to having the silver, and I want what I can't have frown . I still might have to work on the 18th though, I requested it off, but they need me at the Olive Garden (Hey, I'm a college kid, it isn't my career choice :p )and I really need the ching!

~I just bought a new high-flow cat and new SVT struts. I wanted Konis, but I can't afford that kind of upgrade, and besides, I'm not racing the thing (yet laugh )! Still waiting on the 215/45/17 tires from the rack, guess they're on backorder. So, the car looks pretty ****ty for now anyways. Steel 15" snows and a broken rear bumper, ouch!, still hurts thinking 'bout it. frown

Hey do you work at the olive garden in coon rapids/blaine? I saw a silver SVT with ghetto rims there a while back. I believe that there was another SVT parked right next to it. I do frequent the olive garden from time to time anything I don't want to know about it?

Hey Man frown ! They're not that ghetto (maybe a little laugh ), but it's not like they're bling bling or nothin! I just put the steels on for winter and I still have the SVT wheels, I just want to put 17s on this summer, laugh and I'm waiting for the tires mad (if they EVER get here)! Yeah, there's another guy in that area that drives a maroon E1. I'll be "un-ghetto" in about a week or so, I hope wink .~Chuck

P.S. Been at the O.G. for 3 years while I have been at St. Cloud State, and I have to say that it is the cleanest restaurant I've ever worked in. As far as the taste of the food goes, that's all up to you. Oh, the fettucine alfredo will give you a heart attack on the spot, it's all calories. :p

Chuck, I know can say I feel your pain with your car. Driving on Saturday a lady in a normal civic lost control of her car and fishtailed and i hit her. Broken headlight, turnsignal, messed up hood and messed up fender. Bumper is scuffed(the bra saved it) and the bra is ripped. I thought it would be cheap, but the more and more I look at it aint goin to be cheap.

That sucks! I hate it (not to be sexist, but I have had multiple incidents) when women drivers go crazy mad . It's like they're either fixing their make-up in the rear view during rush hour or reaching for their cell in the back seat in a blizzard, or something like that! I swear my girlfrind drives like an old lady! We broke up once b/c of her poor driving, not kidding!
.....I'm kinda proud of that break-up, I actually had a very valid point.... I think wink
Hey, I totally understand what you're saying about $$, b/c body shops are definatly NOT cheap! eek good luck ~Chuck

Yeah that alfredo is damn good though. As for body shops after doign 3500 in repairs from getting hit broadside at 5-10mph it's amazing cars these days don't fall apart everytime someone hits your door with thiers. Anyway good luck in getting it fixed and really push for new parts if you can. (my "used" parts are less then six months old and already rusting through).

Estimate= $2011 and some change(Ford OEM). I didn't think it would be that much but it was. I have to go get more estimates later this week(after school is out) and then fix the damn thing(especially the headlight).
If you guys would see my car, you would think it looks like about 700 at the most, but nope, its not. hopefully I can find an estimate that is a lot more. Pay for some of my clutch that i am getting done at All Tech(thanks to Rusty).
