I am a current stang GT (2000 model) owner and a former CSVT owner. I've ridden in/driven the 3.8, the 5.0 and the 4.6L stangs...I also used to drag race the CSVT...let me tell ya....

You will flat OWN that little six pot stang..its heavy and has a non-performing auto tranny, especially if your car happens to be a five speed. Heck, you may even be able to compete against a stock 4.6L 98 vert auto for that matter. If your car is an auto....well I dunno cause I've never ridden in an automatic 2.5 SE tour..

Let's put this into perspective though...the Contour is light and the Duratec is very efficient...the v-6 stang ragtop really competes against such open air sofas as the sebring convertible and the sunfire convertible...its just a fun little coupe but has no real sport.

In my 99 CSVT, I once raced a 97 or 98 v-g stang 5 speed with intake, exhaust, and a 50 shot on the dragstrip. I still beat it by over half a second...part of that could be driver error, but don't fear an automatic, convertible v-6 stang with some girlie girl driver....just waste that car and get it over with.

BTW, you should do something like this to V-6 camaros too.
