what you see there in the pics, isn't the press you need. that is a jerry-rigged attempt to press it out. the proper press looks basically like a bottle jack mounted to some sort of crossmember/support. you would put the hub in between the jack and the support, and start pumping the jack. it would tehn push the bearing out.
we eventually ended up going to home depot and bought a cast iron pipe connector/reducer. i believe it was 2" dia an the big end, and had to be groound down a little to fit into the hub nicely. we used that to force the new bearing in.
