You are right, 50%, plus or minus three %. Have the shop take into account your factory tint before they quote your for the new stuff. Headlights must be DOT certified to run any roads.
andy v is right, no more than 4 lights on at a time. I believe all neon is 100% illegal but I can check for sure if ya want.
