sorry my car has 49K now. what pissed me off is i asked the Service advisor about if there were any recalls open on the car and he printed up the OASIS report and said "no". So after coughing up 30$ and spending an hour replacing the parts, i read and the report said "open campaigns"
Guess I should ask for campaigns too i suppse. If the engine werent so enchanted I would be more pissed than I was. It is a fun car but the sketchy build quality tempers the fun somewhat. After all it is only 3 years old

Will be moving into Houston mid-January, west end of town somewhere along I-10. Will be on a house hunting trip next week.

I drive a 98.5 red SVT with 17" ASA IS6 wheels.

If the weather cooperates, I'll be driving it from Calgary, otherwise I'll wait until later this spring.

Any good performance shops that you guy's know of to get mods done?

Looking at an LSD, cat back exhaust, and possibly a S/C if it gets good reviews from the folks that have one on order.

Marc

MLT,

Flyin speaks the truth about the commute from the 'burbs on the west side of Houston on I-10 if you will be working at or near Houston. That freeway is bad even during off-peak periods. If you will be working near where you live that will be irrelavent.

Hey that Katy drive aint that bad ! (of coures I do it backwards every day) especially to Performance Imports if you got the parts they will install them and they dont charge too much. They also can get quite a few parts. They just put a clutch in my son,s MX3 for $75 less than anyone else I called.

Hey there Flyin', how are you? I have not done any mods to any cars, never had any thoughts about it, until the Contour and only after coming on here since June. I know about the motor mounts and wheel hop and launching but what is the lighted SVT mod you are talking about? The first mod I am looking to do is get a used SVT exhaust, I know a guy here in L.C. that is contemplating getting a new one for his SVT and I told him that I would be interested in buying his used one.

My past mechanical experience is pretty much limited to maintenance and minor repairs, water pumps, timing belts, alternators and the like. I have learned more about cars in general in the 7 months I have been here than in my past 44 years. It has been a fun learning experience. Talk to you again...

The lighted SVT mod is on Louis Wang's SVT site.
It involves scraping part of the inside of the SVT tach so that the SVT logo lights up. Pretty cool and cheap mod. BTW it only works on the SVT tach b/c it says SVT on it
